The project was to create a printed zine for class, within any subject of our choice. I chose to create a fairy-tale inspired body positivity zine. The theme is "we are a fairytale," as we are all romantic figures capable of being a subject of love and idealism, no matter what we look like. The design was inspired by fantastical decorative elements, with a vintage fantasy typeface, juxtaposed with an RGB, vector style printed on vellum paper. It is a fantasy love letter to the human body.
I designed it in an accordion fold as a reference to the unfolding of wings. The zine itself comes in a self-closing vellum envelope, and a delicate baby's breath flower. The motif of Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man was an intentional metaphor for what we deem beautiful and perfect.
Alongside the publication I expanded on the project by creating a shareable digital file of it on Figma with UI animations and an AR filter on Spark AR Studio.
I wrote a poem for it you can read at the bottom of the page.
